The pair were only in the team because of a slew of absences at the back – Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Reece James all had to be out at the same time for it to happen, but Thomas Tuchel wasn’t afraid to turn to his young defenders, and they did him proud.
The German coach’s system helps the central defends a lot by protecting them, but stepping into a game like this was no easy feat for the pair, and they kept Brentford at bay.
Their contributions were vital for the three points, and whether or not they continue to play regularly this season, they’ve done their bit to help the team.
Chalobah in particular looks set to have plenty of appearances to come.

Raila Odinga’s Popularity Graph in Mt Kenya Rises to 27%, Mizani Africa Survey .
The ODM leader Raila Odinga’s popularity in the Mount Kenya region has risen to 27.1%, according to a new survey done by Mizani Africa.
The research conducted between October 1 and October 13 in the Central region indicated Deputy President William Ruto was the most preferred presidential candidate in the area with 58.2.
According to the poll’s findings released on Monday, October 18, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was ranked a distant third with 5.2%.

Odinga’s three-day tour starting Monday will see him hold a series of rallies in Mt. Kenya East counties of Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi.
A section of leaders allied to Odinga from the region however now want former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth considered for a running mate position in the ODM chief’s camp.
Odinga, who has been on back-to-back campaigns touring 8 counties in two weeks, will kick off his tour in Laare town with a rally before proceeding to Maua town, Kianjai and later a public rally in Meru town.
On Tuesday, Odinga will kick off another round of meet-the-people tours with a rally in Nkubu, Chuka town and later an Azimio la Umoja meeting in Embu.

Remarks by the lawmakers who attended a church service in Kangema on Sunday brought to the fore the behind the scenes negotiations and a vicious contest to be Odinga’s running mate once he declares his candidature.
Odinga on Sunday visited the late freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi’s widow Mukami Kimathi in Komarock, where he pledged to push compensation for the country’s freedom fighters.

Greenwood Rise to KOPA Trophy Shortlist
The decision of when to promote a young player into the first team is difficult, but, in the case of Mason Greenwood, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaches have done it masterfully.
The Academy is a conveyor belt of talent and there are always young players who are knocking on the door of the senior squad, hoping to join those who have graduated before them. Famously, a homegrown player has featured in every matchday squad for 4,107 matches in a record that dates all the way back to October 1937, proudly highlighting our commitment to homegrown talent.
Greenwood was making waves in the youth system and had trained with the first team when Solskjaer returned to United as caretaker manager in December 2018. With a natural eye for goalscorers, the Norwegian was immediately impressed by Mason’s talent and that led to his first-team debut: as a substitute in the dramatic win over Paris Saint-Germain that March.
With Ole as a mentor and supportive coaches in Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick and former youth-team boss Kieran McKenna, Greenwood flourished and scored 17 goals in his first full season. His success brought added expectation and pressure, yet Mason’s emergence was handled meticulously and player care has always been at the centre of his ascent. This is the United way.
When the Bradford-born talent experienced a challenging start to the 2020/21 season, the mood at Carrington was calm: young players experience ups and downs by their nature, and this prodigiously gifted starlet had a manager who remained 100 per cent behind his player. The result? Our no.11 scored eight of his 12 goals in the second half of the campaign, with added wisdom in the bank.
Greenwood began the current term with a bang by scoring in our first three matches and, as a result, winning the club’s fan-voted Player of the Month award. A year of working with Edinson Cavani has clearly had a positive impact on his all-round play and, furthermore, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has provided another world-class role model to learn from. This is what the club always strives to achieve, of course: mixing homegrown heroes with world-class talent.
“It’s great timing for Mason that he’s able to work under such a great striker in Ole,” said McKenna in his UTD Unscripted. “There aren’t many better than Ole in the history of the football club for goals in the penalty area, different types of finishes from inside the penalty area, anticipatory movements in the box. Ole was really strong and passionate about that and it’s something for Mason to work on.
“As finishers, in terms of left foot and right foot, Ole sees similarities between him and Mason and that probably helped with their bond and his willingness to push Mason and give him the opportunity. Likewise, for Mason to know when he’s getting advice off the manager it’s from someone who has been in the penalty box and done it. It’s a really beneficial relationship for him. Mason’s lucky with the manager that he’s come under, not just in terms of the goalscoring but how he handles him as a person as well. He’s been fortunate that he broke into the first team under Ole
Greenwood’s relationship with Solskjaer has undoubtedly helped him to become one of football’s most accomplished young players and, last Friday, he was named on a 10-man shortlist for the Kopa Trophy. Organised by France Football, it is presented to the world’s best performing player under the age of 21 and the winner is selected by a panel of former Ballon d’Or recipients, with winners so far including Kylian Mbappe and Matthijs De Ligt. The victor will be named on 29 November.
Whether Mason wins or not, his nomination is a fantastic achievement and one that highlights the incredible progress that he has made while working under Solskjaer and his staff at Carrington.
Whatever the future holds for Greenwood remains to be seen, and there is plenty of hard work to come, but with Solskjaer as his mentor it appears anything is possible.

France Beat Spain To Win Nations League in an entertaining Match.
MILAN, Italy, Oct 10 – France won the Nations League on Sunday after coming from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 in Milan.
Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe struck to claim the title for world champions France after Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead midway through the second half.
The win will ease some of the pain created by an early exit from Euro 2020 at the hands of Switzerland and highlighted just how powerful France are going forward.
Les Bleus came out on top of a match at the San Siro which came to life after Oyarzabal slid home the opener in the 64th minute.
As well as the two goals from their superstar attackers, France had other opportunities to score through Mbappe before a frantic finish in which Spain launched an assault on the French goal.
Didier Deschamps praised Hugo Lloris for his saves that didn’t made the match to go into extra-time after the France captain pulled off a fine stoppage time save to deny Yeremi Pino a late leveller.
Earlier Italy took third place after beating Belgium 2-1 in Turin through goals form Nicolo Barella and Domenico Berardi.
The Golden Generation of Belgium National Team have gone trophy less yet another season as they await to compete in the next year’s Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Manchester United players Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial have both been linked with a move to Newcastle United, who are looking to lay down a marker following their huge takeover.
Newcastle United have discussed the possibility of signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United in the January transfer window, given that his contract is also out at the end of the season. However, it is not known if he would be open to the move. He turned down a loan to Newcastle in favour of West Ham a year ago.
Newcastle have made a formal enquiry to Manchester United concerning the signing of Anthony Martial. There are also Spanish clubs in the mix, Manchester United are likely to demand as close to the £54m they paid for the Frenchman 6 years ago but know they will be unable to recoup it all.

Raila Replied to critics ,I climbed the Mountain Before.

Leader of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Raila has declined claims that Central Kenya known as Mount Kenya is Deputy President William Ruto’s Stronghold. He replied to those critics claiming that he climbed the Mountain 20 years ago.
His words came days after he met with the region businessmen and the tycoons at Safari Park Hotel as he tries to mobilize the vote rich region (over six-million votes) to back his 2022 Presidential bid.
As he was addressing the residents of Nyahururu and Subukia on Sunday, October 10. Odinga also stated that their political relationship with the region started in the early 1960’s when his Father the first Vice President of Kenya Jaramogi Oginga Odinga fought for the release of Jomo Kenyatta’s release from the Prison.
Raila Odinga also narrated how he campaigned for Mwai Kibaki after he was involved in an accident ahead of Historic General Elections in 2002.
Raila said ” I first climbed the Mountain when I declared my support to Mwai Kibaki and I said Kibaki TOSHA. While at a church service in Naivasha, the former Prime Minister took a swipe at corrupt leaders and promised that he would ensure all corrupt leaders are dethroned.
“How do you make contributions of Sh100 million monthly with a salary of Sh3 million? We will make sure the corrupt leaders are dealt with as per our laws,” he added.Odinga took the chance to remind locals of the goodies they missed after the court declared the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) law change illegal, pledging to revive it.
“The BBI had benefits to the people of the mountain but now it’s nowhere. We shall bring it back,” he said.
Raila made stopovers in various urban centres as he marketed his presidential bid in the region that has never backed his previous stubs at the presidency.
According to data by the Independent and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the region boasts of seven million votes but is unlikely to field a presidential candidate in 2022 making it the most important voting block ahead of the polls.
Presidential hopefuls have recently made tours to the region to secure votes from the slopes of Kenya’s tallest mountain. Raila Odinga main Focus is to how he can win all the Votes from the Mountain.

RASHFORD RECEIVES HONORARY DEGREE
England international footballer Marcus Rashford MBE received his honorary doctorate from The University of Manchester today (Thursday 7 October), at a special ceremony which took place at Old Trafford.
The initial award announcement was made in July last year, but due to the pandemic, an official in-person ceremony and celebration has been unable to take place until now.
The prestigious award is for his ongoing charity work and well-publicised campaign against child poverty off the field, as well as his outstanding sporting achievements on the pitch.
The accolade is the highest honour the University can bestow and, at just 23 years old, Marcus is the youngest recipient of an honorary degree in the history of The University of Manchester. He joins fellow Manchester United club legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have also been honoured by the University in the past. Sir Alex Ferguson joined Marcus’s friends and family in attendance to see the England international receive his award from The University of Manchester’s President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell.
Marcus said: “To be here in the presence of a great such as Sir Alex, and those who have played a huge role in my journey to be where I am today is special.
“I’m here to receive my Honorary Doctorate for my work around child poverty. Yesterday, millions of families across the UK lost a lifeline and a means of staying afloat. A move that could see child poverty rise to 1 in 3 children. For that reason, today is bittersweet.
“It’s time that representatives got out into communities like mine. It’s time they saw first-hand the true measure of struggle. COVID-19 can no longer be used as an excuse.”
On presenting Marcus with his honorary degree, Professor Rothwell said: “Marcus is an exceptional young man who continues to demonstrate a sense of community and generosity that goes well beyond his years.
“Our University also has social responsibility at its core, and we are extremely proud to share these values with Marcus. It really is an honour to finally present him with this well-deserved award on behalf of our institution.
“His ongoing charity work and high-profile campaigns not only help millions of people across the country, but inspire many more to try and make a difference themselves. Long may it continue.”In remarks at the ceremony, Collette Roche, Manchester United’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Marcus is an exceptional footballer and an exceptional person.
