Today ODM Deputy Party leader HE Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya held a meeting with Kakamega ODM aspirants for various seats.
After negotiations they have come up with a list of 33 aspirants for the MCA’s seats who will be issued with direct ticket.
He thank all aspirants who have embraced negotiated democracy and agreed to step down. The move will cut down on nomination costs alongside dealing with fallouts after the primaries that may cause Voter apathy in the County.
They also agreed that aspirants who have not embraced negotiated democracy have been given up to tomorrow to agree failure to which they will be subjected to nominations on Tuesday next week.
Kakamega County ODM Party officials led by acting county chairman Mr Mophat Mandela and secretary Geoffrey Mitalo used the meeting to brief aspirants on the forthcoming nominations and responded to their concerns.
The party has put mechanisms in place to ensure that ODM win majority of elective seats in this year’s General Election.
You have made the right choice, this is the vehicle that will lead ordinary Kenyans to a new economic reality,β Ruto tweeted.

Wacha tupatane huko mbele ikue derby. Huku Tulisha jipanga mapema Sasa katambe tu. Godβs time ππΌ
This doesn’t goes well with some of his fans who felt betrayed given that they are the supporters of Azimio La Umoja, and instead they said that he could have used a political party affiliated with Azimio La Umoja to maintain his fanbase in Mathare Constituency.
Mathare Constituency is ODM zone and he will get it hard to beat incumbent Wakili Anthony Oluoch, prefferd ODM candidate.
The ODM party led by HE Raila Odinga has blamed former police spokesperson Charles Owino who defected to United Democratic Movement (UDM) to join hands with former Rarieda MP Nicholas Odero Gumbo in the Siaya Gubernatorial contest of dishonesty.
They will face off with Siaya Senator James Orengo and William Oduol who have been endorsed by ODM leaders to help Senior Counsel to clinch the ODM gubernatorial ticket.
ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna on Tuesday said the duo might have joined hands long ago but chose to frustrate ODM.
On Tuesday, Charles Owino, a former police spokesperson said they defected to UDM after being prevailed upon by ODM leadership to step down for Siaya Senator James Orengo who has also been eyeing the ODM party ticket.
βI paid the nomination fee and was to participate in the ODM primaries but I was prevailed upon to stand down for an individual and as our character dictates I said I would not oppose that kind of request. But unfortunately, my supporters said I must run so we decided to team up with Gumbo and have a formidable force,β Charles Owino said.

Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Dr. Karanja Kibicho has denied the Kenyan governmentβs involvement in the hitches hampering the return of Lawyer Miguna Miguna into the country.
In submissions presented in court on Thursday, Kibicho insisted that the government has not issued any red alerts to bar the embattled lawyer from coming to Kenya.
βI confirm that no government agency has issued any so-called red alert to Air France and Lufthansa Group (operating as German Airlines) in relation to Migunaβs travel to Kenya,β Dr. Kibicho submitted.
PS Kibicho further advised Miguna to acquire his travel papers at the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, to facilitate his entry into the country.
Miguna Miguna had vowed to return to Kenya on Tuesday, November 15th until he was denied boarding Air France in Berlin, Germany after going through all the required processes.
In an interview on the same day, Miguna while highlighting his plight in a foreign land, said that the red alerts issued by the government had made it impossible for him to travel to Kenya.
βThe customer service who had already been notified of my arrival told me quite clearly before they started checking in, they had my picture and were waiting for me,β he insisted.
βWe received the red alert this morning directing us that we don’t allow you to board,β he added.
High Court Judge Hedwig Ongudi on Friday, November 12, 2021, declined to issue orders sought by lawyer Miguna Miguna to facilitate his return to Kenya on grounds that it could not rely on speculations to grant the orders.
The court dismissed the application, noting that it cannot rely on speculation to grant the orders sought by Miguna Miguna.
“The case was filed prematurely without evidence and is therefore dismissed,” the court ruled.
The judge said that Miguna was to prove the existence of the red alerts and he was under obligation to prove those facts.
Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi and former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga on Wednesday moved to court to file a new petition seeking the rescinding of red alerts.
Havi noted that the alerts indicated that the matter is no longer an issue of conjecture and that the Kenyan government is knowingly denying Miguna entry into the country, as such they have a valid argument to support their petition.

What could be going on at a strategic installation for the last three days? There has been a persistent and intermediate power outage at the countryβs biggest facility, sometimes lasting as long as 30 minutes. What is of concern is that the outage has been ongoing for three days with no apparent action from authorities. There is no power backup in the area. This has left many concerned that this could be planned for some mission. Those following the matter keenly told Corridors they wonder why the concerned parties have not installed a generator to help deal with the crisis. Would the management come out and explain what the problem is?
An aspirant to a city seat is caught between a rock and a hard place as he is not sure of his messaging. The politician told his close allies that if he goes on with the messages being fronted by his party, he risks losing his supporters in the rival camp. The man says he wants to appear non-controversial. But when his leader in the party learnt of this, he dragged him to campaigns recently and forced him to attack the rival camp against his wishes. At the end of the rally, he was heard complaining he had lost ground.
Are things getting thick for a popular lawmaker in his quest to contest a top seat in a certain county? The man, who was known for fiery speeches on national platforms, seems to be sweating it out and is now tethered at home pleading with voters to elect him. Our sources say the man is facing an uphill task in the face of the competition. This has been worsened by the fact that the man he is seeking to succeed as well as his cronies have abandoned him. An MP who has been campaigning for him has been booed several times. How times change in politics!
